August 8, 2008 - USC quarterback Mark Sanchez dislocated his left kneecap during pre-practice warmups today. The injury occurred as Sanchez jumped slightly while making a throw and he landed awkwardly. He was carted off the field, taken for X-rays and an MRI, then evaluated after practice by the USC doctors and athletic training staff. His knee will be immobilized over the weekend and he will start rehab on Monday. He is listed as day-to-day.

January 8, 2008 - Purdue has taken the first step in replacing Joe Tiller as head coach. They have announced that Eastern Kentucky coach Danny Hope will be hired as assistant head coach, then become head coach in 2009. The 49-year-old Hope was an offensive line coach on Tiller's staffs at Wyoming, then Purdue, before leaving the Boilermakers after the 2001 season.
