For the second time in three years, Buckeye fans made their way to Glendale, both times coming up short
Thousands of fans came out early to enjoy the block party, free food and music
Ohio State vs Texas
VS
The Buckeyes and the Longhorns hook for the third time in four years, in the 2009 Fiesta Bowl.  Although Ohio State managed to hold Texas to 24 points under their season average, they came up short by 16 seconds.  The close victory will likely cost the Longhorns a chance at the AP National Championship, but that will be little consolation for the fans of the Scarlet and Gray who thought we were going to win this one. This will be the third straight year Ohio State will come up short in a BCS bowl game.

For the third straight year, Ohio State scored first, with this 51 yard field goal by Aaron Pettrey(20)

James Laurinaitis(33) and the OSU defense was much more aggressive this bowl game, compared to the previous years
Ryan Pretorius(85) gave the Buckeyes their 6-3 lead at half-time with his 30 yard field goal

Media Day
January 2nd, 2009
The Media Day events were moved from The University of Phoenix Stadium to the media hotel due to the playoff game between the Cardinals and the Falcons.  We knew that would mean fewer players would come out but I could not have predicted the drop in media coverage as well.  There were more credentialed personnel at the OSU Media/Picture Day in August (Buckeye 50 photos) than showed up for the bowl Media Day.  (Perhaps OSU officials kicked them out for leaking the Boeckman/Pryor story?)
