Last Week: It was great to see the Buckeyes take their act on the road, continue to play at a high level and come out of Bloomington on top of the Big Ten standings.  They could be their by themselves with a win over this week's opponent, the Wisconsin Badgers, and I am sure you remember what happened last year.  For our picks, Steven topped everyone with a 4-1 week, setting the pace by being the only person selecting Miami over the Sooners.  This also puts him in a tie overall with Brent at 15-10 as we are now a third of the way through the season.  Dr. Mark and Tim are just behind them at 14-11.  We have a lot of tough games this week, so let's see what happens Saturday.

This Week:  Be honest, who thought that after just two weeks of conference play that two teams would be playing for sole possession of first place in the conference?  Who thought that one of those teams would be an undefeated Wisconsin team?  Yet that is the situation we find ourselves on Saturday in Ohio Stadium.  The winner of OSU-Wisconsin will be all alone and in the drivers seat for the Rose Bowl or more.   Yet this is not the only big game in the Big Ten/Eleven this weekend, and I am not talking about Penn State's powerhouse game against the Eastern Illinois Panthers.  Of course we are keeping a close watch at the Michigan match-up with the Hawkeyes.  For many reasons, we need the Iowa to remain undefeated until they come into Columbus November 14th.  A solid win over the Hawkeye team and a monster win the next week over Michigan might just be what puts Ohio State over the edge in a quest to enter the National Title race again.  But we will not be the only hot bed of college games in our conference, that other popular conference down south, also known as the SEC, has two huge games of their own.  First, the Crimson Tide will take on the Rebels on the road, and in Baton Rouge the Gators will face LSU, with or without Tebow.  In both cases, the road teams will be favored and in both cases the winner will likely be playing in the conference championship.  And of course the winner of the conference championship gets the automatic SEC berth into the BCS championship game.  On a less critical note, we will look at the best match-up in the Pac-10 this week which will be Oregon facing the UCLA Bruins.

Here we go - Good Luck to All

Wisconsin @
Ohio State

(Joe-S-U: Bucks over Wisconsin- No offense to "Boom" Herron, but I'll take my chances with Brandon Saine in a game like this.
This one won't be for the faint of heart- both training staffs better have plenty of aspirin ready when the clock runs out.)

(Gregg: I am interested in seeing Pryor against a team that he played well against last year.  The Bucks should win this one,
but for us to go to the next level Terrelle HAS to start getting better.  Bucks win this one by a comfortable margin.)

(Pete: Bucky Badger is undefeated coming into the game this Saturday.  The OSU defense is clicking on all cylinders.
As long as OSU doesn't turn the ball over too much this one should be in the bag.  OSU 23 - UW 13)

(Steven: We keep winning and we might just drop out of the top 25 completely.  It will be another
ho-hum day at the office for the Bucks, where defense once again wins the day.  OSU 35-17.)

(Rick: Even if the OSU team has the flu, it will not be a close game.  It is hard to be Wisconsin
is still unranked in the polls, still no respect for the Big 10.  OSU all the way.)

(Dr. Mark:  I hope Pryor can step up in the pocket and throw the 20-yard out.)

(Brent: Pick: OSU - Wisky stays in this one, but Buckeye defense prevails.)

(WINNER : Ohio State)

Alabama @
Mississippi

(Steven: Nick Saban’s team, ranked 4th in the nation, has been the beneficiary of a lot of SEC hype this year.  The Crimson Tide has one good win (Va. Tech… and not over a super team at that) and a lot of dominance over poor quality teams.   On the other side, Ole Miss looked positively sub-par in their only match against a good team in their loss against South Carolina, (please forgive the use of the word “good” in this context).   Mississippi will need a lot of home field advantage to overcome the Tide, and more than likely, the poor officiating in the SEC.  They may be able to beat Alabama, but they won’t be able to beat the refs.  ‘Bama wins 37-35.)

(Rick: I will hope I am wrong on this one, but I will have to go with Alabama.  It would be nice if Bama loses this week)

(Dr. Mark:  I think Saban is actually(Hard to believe) trying to stay low key and let Florida get all the Hype)

(Pete: Mississippi turned into Missipoopy and dropped an easy one against Southern Carolina
a few weeks ago.  I'd like to call the upset but the Tide is too good.  Tide 26 - Rebels 20)

(Gregg: Mississippi has not played a ranked opponent yet this year, even at home and
I think they will be exposed.  I still think Alabama should be ranked #1 right now.)

(Joe-S-U: 'Bama over Ole Miss-That 8 points the Tide is giving is looking pretty good
to me, but for our straight-up purposes here on Buckeye 50 I'll go with Saban.)

(Brent: Pick: Alabama - Tide Rolls)

(WINNER : Alabama)

Michigan @
Iowa

(Steven: We root for Iowa, of course.  Keep them undefeated until November 14.  There is little guarantee that Michigan will be more than .500 the rest of the way out, so rooting for them is wasted effort.  They won’t be ranked when we get to them, and the best rivalry in college sports will be reduced to a national afterthought this year.  I do worry that Iowa may not be able to keep up with
the scoring of Michigan.  This week we’ll really see how good Iowa’s defense is.  They have a great line, but can their secondary
handle the offensive juggernaut that is Tate Forcier?  I say they make it by, but just barely.  Iowa ekes out a win 34-33.)

(Joe-S-U: Iowa over Michigan- All signs point to the Wolves- Hawks offense hasn't exactly set the world on fire and UM's
offensive look can offset some of Iowa's D-line advantage.  But Ferentz seems to have a little mojo going this year.)

(Dr. Mark: This is Iowa’s biggest game in a few years They have to prove they can win the big game against a big rival. )

Pete: It will be a cold day in hell when I EVER root for Meatchicken.  Iowa wins.  Herkie 28 - Wolverweeine 24)

(Gregg: The Iowa defense will be ready for the Michigan offense and stay on their win streak.)

(Rick: I would like to see Iowa go undefeated for I couple more weeks.
I think Iowa will play their standard game and win by 3 in the end.)

(Brent: Pick: Iowa - Game could go either way)

(WINNER : Iowa)

Florida @
LSU

(Steven:  I hate to say it, but I’m actually rooting for Florida for this game.  LSU is another SEC bubble ready to burst.  They do not deserve to be ranked where they are, and they certainly didn’t deserve to win last week’s game against Georgia.  So, LSU swallowing a crushing defeat would restore my sense of what is right in the world.  In addition, the officiating crew from last week’s game should be sat down and told never to go near a ball field again.  Florida can go with a backup QB and still beat LSU.  Florida 41-28)

(Gregg: Think this game is big?  The winner of this game has won the last three BCS National Championships.  Tebow may play but
he will not be 100%.  I think LSU will win but unfortunately even with the loss, the Gators may not drop below Ohio State.)

(Dr. Mark: Florida, but if Tebow doesn’t play then LSU can win- LSU’s comeback against GA was a fun 3 mins of football.)

(Joe-S-U: LSU over Florida- Is LSU the fourth best team in the country?  Doubtful.  Is Florida the big scary bogeyman
everyone made them out to be this summer?  Not hardly.  Tigers defend their turf and clear the top spot for Texas.)

(Rick: Wow, so many factors in this game makes it hard to call.  I will have to go with FL in a nail biter.)

(Pete: Tebow will not be 100% and LSU will be gunning for him.  Tigers win in an ugly one.  LSU 17 - UF 13)

(Brent: Florida - Like Michigan vs Iowa, game could go either way)

(WINNER : Florida)

Oregon @
UCLA

(Joe-S-U: Oregon over UCLA- Both teams are pretty battle tested.  Oregon seems to have all its oars in the water right now.)

(Steven: Time to jump on the Oregon bandwagon?  Not so fast, my friend.  Look for UCLA to pull the mild upset.  UCLA 24-20.)

(Rick: Hard to go against UCLA a home, but I will.  Oregon wins by 10.)

(Pete: The Ducks are playing themselves into the Rose Bowl.  UCLA is almost
back but won't hold up against Oregon.  Da Ducks 31 - Da Bears 21)

(Dr. Mark: UCLA  They usually do the opposite of what I pick)

(Gregg: Oregon shows the win over Cal was no fluke.)

(Brent: Pick: UCLA - Oregon run ends)

(WINNER : Oregon)
